Let’s make a manga—part three
This post is part three in the “Let’s Make a Manga!” series.
Have you ever wanted to create your own beautiful manga full of rich story line, interesting characters, and outstanding art that everyone will love? In the new “Let’s Make a Manga” series, find out how to make eye-catching covers, story plots that will make your readers beg for more, panel your manga, and create characters with personality.
In parts One and Two, we covered story plots and character design. This week, we will be going over creating cover art!
Part Three- Cover Design!
Cover design is integral to a popular manga because it can attract viewers to read your story. Most of the time, covers contain at least one of the main characters in a cool pose, a cool background, and the title of your manga series in bold letters.
Covers should display what the book is about. If the story is an action manga with tons of fighting, draw the characters in fighting poses. If it is a manga about school or something more peaceful, try incorporating that into your story. Find a cool font for your title or make one especially for it. If you haven’t come up with a title yet, think about what the main focus point of your story is and then start from there.
If you’re really bummed, try some online title generators. If you like one of them, think of what you like about the title given and modify it to your liking.
Often times, a manga cover displays the main characters of the story. Whether you draw one character each volume or pile a few onto one cover is your choice!
That’s all I can offer for now! I hope you found this tutorial useful!
