Drawing myself into anime screenshots

Hey everyone!

I know it’s been a while, but today I bring to you a new post! Finally!

Today, I’m going to be drawing myself into two screenshots from anime. They will be from Toilet-Bound Hanako Kun and the volleyball anime: Haikyuu!

Screenshot #1

For the first screenshot, I drew myself into Toilet-Bound Hanako Kun. In this scene, Akane Aoi is telling Nene Yashiro about the kinds of books in the 4 o’clock Library. For this, I used Aoi from another screenshot as my base in order to keep the drawing style consistent. Then, I proceed to draw over the base, making slight modifications such as making my hair curly and long, and changing the inside of my eyes to look more like Yashiro’s style and less like Aoi’s. That means adding more color and highlights to the drawing.

I also fill in the base colors for my hair, skin and uniform. I color picked Yashiro’s skin color because it looks similar to my own skin. Once i’m finished with that, I added a touch of noise to my color layers to match the pixelated style of coloring that is in the anime.

Now onto the second! Here I am drawing myself into the anime Haikyuu! The scene I chose is when Kiyoko is holding her fist up and looking down from the balcony above. I chose a character from another screenshot to draw over, where she appears to be cheering. I add modifications to the base to make it look more like me, making the ponytail curly and so on.

For the coloring, Haikyuu’s coloring style is pretty simple, unlike Hanako Kun’s complex coloring style, so there wasn’t too much trouble with that part. No special effects were needed other than blurring the line art.
