Drawing myself into anime screenshots - #1

Today I will be drawing myself into an anime screenshot! I had a lot of fun with this and will most likely be doing this again!!

I decided I was going to draw myself into a scene from the anime My Hero Academia. I chose a scene from season one, when Class 1-a first meet each other.

For some reason I really wanted to draw myself in between deku and ochaco, so I did!

I found another screenshot of momo yaoyorozu in it and I decided to use it as a base for the screen capture. I changed up a few things and then traced over it.

I was having trouble with what pose I wanted to draw myself in. At first, I had myself in 3/4 view, but then I was having trouble making it look like the style in the show. Not to mention I couldn’t seem to figure out how to draw the hand… Well anyway, that was really frustrating, so I decided to go with a front view, with my hands together in front of me. This hand pose was in the yaoyorozu base, and I really liked it, so I decided to use it!

I absolutely LOVE the uniforms everyone wears in My Hero Academia. They look really cool. Also, for some reason I was really wanting to make my hair straighter than it actually is, so I made it that way in the drawing. But in reality, my hair is actually very curly.

When drawing the hair, I was really frustrated because I couldn’t seem to make the highlights look right. Looking at pictures of other My Hero Academia characters, they all had a bunch of highlights and pretty much no shading. Still, it was killing me that I couldn’t add shade in the places where there should be.

I feel like I’ve been holding it off long enough, so here it is: the final result!
