Drawing my gacha character
This week I was going to do another “I Draw You OC!” post, but instead I decided it might be more fun to draw one of my own characters. This character was created with Gacha Club, a game to make your own gacha characters.
So, I went into Gacha Club, created a new character, and then filled out their personal info. I named her Caroline.
I’m really happy with the result of my new character! All that was next was to draw her!
I was having trouble deciding what pose to draw Caroline in. For some reason, I kept wanting her to hold the peace sign, so I settled on a pose where Caroline was sitting on a brick wall. One hand is down, touching the wall, and the other is in the peace sign.
Later on I get rid of the wings and vest, just becuase my clean-up sketch was getting too cluttered and confusing. I had Caroline looking at the screen, like she’s posing for a picture or something.
Coloring the hair was hard, since it wasn’t just one solid color. I had two base colors, two shade colors, and a highlight color. Still, I had a lot of fun on that part, and I really like how it turned out!
The clothes were fun and easy. I just added some shading and highlights where there should be, and I was done.
I found that the hardest part in this whole process was most likely the background. Because I was struggling so much, I pulled up a few references to make things easier. I also studied some of the trees outside, too. I was having trouble with the brick wall after that. At first, I tried to draw the pattern myself, but that didn’t go so well. Instead, I used some of Ibis Paint x’s assets and plopped it on there.
The Final Result!!!
Overall, I had a lot of fun drawing Caroline. She was cute, and I really loved the design in her eyes.
